Folio 03 · Process NOOR L’Atelier seal

Five stages. Nothing moves to the next until the last is closed in writing.

The method is the same whether the piece is crossing a city or a continent: brief, survey, crate, transit, install. Nothing skipped, nothing assumed.

01

Brief — scope agreed in writing

Object, timeline, budget and the constraints of the receiving space — door widths, lift sizes, loading bay hours, climate control — are captured in a written brief before any cost is quoted. This is also where an insurance requirement, if any, is identified.

02

Survey — condition report & photography

Every piece is measured, weighed, photographed and its existing condition recorded before it is touched. This report becomes the reference point for every later handling check, and the basis for any insurance valuation.

03

Crate — packing specified to the object

Crating is built from the condition report, not a standard size chart. Fragile, oversized or environmentally sensitive works receive bespoke internal bracing and climate buffering. Export documentation, permits and insurance — where requested — are issued together with the crate, not after it ships.

04

Transit — one file reference, start to finish

Routing, freight brokerage, customs clearance and any loading or offloading run under a single file reference. Where the route or the material is unfamiliar, we say so and price a dedicated survey rather than guess at cost.

05

Install — checked, then signed off

Unpacking is supervised, the piece is checked against the survey from Stage 02, and it is installed or hung to the space it was specified for. Handover is signed by both sides before the file is closed.

Condition reporting

Photographic and written condition records for every object, at survey and again at handover.

Object-specific crating

Crate specification derived from the piece’s material, dimensions and fragility, not a stock size.

Customs & permits

Export and import documentation, permits and licences prepared ahead of transit, not arranged in transit.

Insurance on request

Cover arranged against declared value for any shipment or engagement, quoted as a separate line item.
